WHAT EVERY PLAN INCLUDES

What you get for
your monthly fee.

Every plan covers the same daily bookkeeping work. The difference between plans is the size of the business, not the quality of the service. One package covers one entity, such as one limited company or one sole trade.

We work in the software you already use, including Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, FreeAgent, Zoho Books, Clear Books, KashFlow, Pandle, QuickFile, FreshBooks and VT Transaction+, with Dext, Hubdoc or AutoEntry for receipts. Your software subscription stays in your name and is paid separately.

  • Bookkeeping every UK working day. Bank feeds are checked, sales and purchases are recorded and transactions are coded as they arrive.
  • Bank reconciliation and receipt matching. Each bank and card line is matched to an invoice, a receipt or a rule, so your balances agree with your statements.
  • Finance inbox monitoring. With your permission, we check the inbox or folders you agree for supplier invoices and receipts.
  • Missing paperwork followed up. Anything without a receipt or invoice is listed and chased, so gaps don’t build up.
  • Monthly financial summaries. A short summary of where the month landed, with records your accountant can use.

OUTSIDE THE MONTHLY PACKAGES

What is quoted
separately.

The monthly packages cover day-to-day bookkeeping. Some work sits outside them and is quoted on its own, so you only pay for it if you need it.

If your books are behind, we agree a separate plan to bring them up to date first. Then the daily service keeps them current in the same software.

  • Catch-up or backlog bookkeeping for months already behind
  • Payroll
  • Tax returns
  • Statutory filings, such as annual accounts

WHAT AFFECTS YOUR PRICE

Why two businesses with the
same turnover can pay differently.

Turnover is a useful guide, but the work depends on how your money moves. These are the things we look at when we set your fixed fee.

  • Transaction volume. A business with 40 bank lines a month needs less time than one with 400 at the same turnover.
  • Number of bank and card accounts. Each account needs its own feed checked and reconciled every day.
  • Receipts and invoices. Lots of small purchases, paper receipts or invoices spread across several inboxes take longer to match.
  • Foreign currencies. Accounts or suppliers in other currencies need exchange differences handled correctly.
  • Ecommerce and card settlements. Payouts from online stores, marketplaces and card terminals arrive net of fees and refunds. Each payout has to be split back into sales, fees and refunds.
  • The state of your books today. Clean, current records are quicker to keep going. A backlog is quoted as separate catch-up work.

DAILY VS MONTHLY BOOKKEEPING

Why daily bookkeeping
is better value.

With monthly bookkeeping, a month of transactions is done in one go. Questions about a payment from four weeks ago are harder to answer, receipts are harder to find, and any problem is found late.

With daily bookkeeping, the work happens while it is fresh. A missing receipt is chased the same week. Your bank balance in the software is reconciled to your bank as you go. You can see where you stand on any day, not only after month-end.

It also helps with VAT. If you are VAT registered, Making Tax Digital for VAT means keeping digital records in compatible software. Records kept up to date every working day are VAT-ready when the quarter ends, so the return is a check rather than a scramble.

  • Questions answered while you still remember the payment
  • Missing receipts chased in days, not at month-end
  • Bank balances that agree with your statements
  • A quicker month-end and quarter-end
  • Records ready for your accountant at year-end
